As you can tell, I am writing this little post on Cyber Monday, 2015.
I can hardly believe that 2016 is just around the corner.
I used to spend a ton of money on Christmas, but as I’ve aged, I’ve learned that most people like presents but they’re really not that turned on by bulk.
There may be some ranting going on here, but at least it’s my ranting and since I’m here I can do that.
Miss out on one of my rantings about marketing and you might miss out on something that could make you more money.
So let’s go over something that will make you money.
I could tell you how I went from being homeless, penniless, and virtually no family, living with a man that was a slob, but hey, that’s not the story I am going to tell you today. It’s a true story, but it’s one that I’ll just kind of wait on.
If you see me at a seminar, a convention, a J.B. event where I speak sometimes, then ask me all about it. I’ll know you read this post and I’ll share how I was able to go from that to making over five figures a month on auto pilot.
Interesting story, good marketing story, and it would say alot for Craigslist.
But I’ll save that story like I said for another day.
So you’re hear because either I told you to read this in one of my emails or you’re just surfing and happened to come across this. Either way, if you’re smart and I know you are, you’ll read my posts.
SIDENOTE: What I learned a long time ago was this. If you want to create a blog, or a website where you write and edit posts, and you want people reading those, you have to give them content, but you have to give them something from your heart. No one, especially me wants to log on to some person’s site and just listen to them ramble about things that don’t pertain to me, and helping me make more money or help more people.
Now remember, I told you this was my ranting.
And that’s exactly what it is.
If you follow this to the end or somewhere in between you might get something out of it that will help you make yourself more money.
That’s my intent.
One thing about me is this.
I don’t give people something… just to sell them something.
Apparently I’m not that good at selling.
I could tell you how to make more money and if you did what I told you to do, and gave it enough time, I would almost guarantee you that you would.
But again, I can’t do that in a post like this.
I’d have to have you as a client, a paying client and sit down with you somewhere so we could talk in private.
Oh get this, I had a client, she told me she wanted to become a speaker. She was an acupuncturist, but she was working way too hard for the money she was making.
Anyway, she and her boyfriend, who used to be worth millions… told me this is what she wanted to do. So I spent about 12 hours getting her ready for an event where she went with me for seven days. Eight actually.
And she found out that what I did for her was just the start.
But then she hit a wall.
I’d tried to prepare her for this event, but apparently she wasn’t ready.
When it was her turn to speak, she didn’t listen to her heart and speak from the heart. When you don’t speak from your heart, you’re not going to connect with the audience. When you don’t do that, you can’t sell crap.
I attended the event twice. That means I have spent 16 days of my life, learning how to do what Joel tells us to do, and I’m still not satisfied with the way I present. But the key when you’re a speaker is this. Know your stuff, prepare and then speak from the heart. If you can do those three simple things, you’re going to be very successful.
I’m already at 700 words, and if you write regularly, like I should be doing at least five times a day here, about marketing, etc, and that includes chiropractic marketing, writing about postcards, and chiropractic newsletters, and throwing in a video, and making it fun to read for people, I should be getting some good feedback, but again, there are millions of people with websites.
Your goal is to make yours standout, and if you aren’t something special, and have a big name, what you have to do is blog, and write, and blog and write.
Tell stories, tell true stories, and people will read your blog.
That’s what I’m doing now.
So if you just read what I’ve written, you’ll know more about being a successful entrepreneur. I know this sounds crazy, but there are a lot of ways to skin a cat, and one little secret I like to use when writing is this.
Always set a timer.
You set that timer for 33:33 minutes.
When the time is up, stop what you’re doing and move around.
Gather your thoughts, and then set the timer again.
That way your mind had a break.
You had a break.
Your body had a break.
And you’re fresh.
Oh here’s another little secret.
If you’re a writer!!!!
Make sure you spend time on your headlines.
And the first ten words you write are sometimes more important than all the rest of the words you write in the article, post, letter, etc.
I know that sounds crazy, but I spend thousands of dollars reading and listening and watching what works for the master of copywriting, and I’m sharing the summary for you right here, right now.
I don’t care what kind of business you’re in, if you’re not sending emails, newsletters, postcards, handwritten letters, etc to people who you do business with, you’re missing out my friend. That includes sending them to your website where you write stuff like this about what you do, which in my case is consulting, helping people to make a ton of money, and connecting with people.
I kind of consider myself a connector, a relationship builder. If you can build a really good relationship with your members, friends, co workers, clients, patients, etc., you’re going to make more money and have a longer lasting relationship with them. You might even get some referrals.
Again, this is a rant, and it’s a long one.
If you’re still reading and you’re reading about how to make more money, how to see more patients, how to help more people, you’re reading this post for the right reason.
I don’t care what anyone says, if you’re going to stay in business, you’re going to have to spend some money letting people know what you do, how you do it, and if they are the right fit for you.
I guess I’d better stop here as I have to go to San Diego today and deliver a machine that is going to make me about $760 dollars while I am gone to Nashville. If you can do these kinds of things, you’re going to be a lot richer this time next year.
SIDEBAR: If you want to write a book with me, and me do all the work and you start getting new clients/patients make sure you call me or email me. I’ll be able to create you a book within two weeks, so you can start making money with it really, really fast. If you are not using a book to promote yourself, you my friend are way behind the times. It’s one of the best ways I know of that gets you results. You hand out ten books, you always get a new client/patient. The cost is not that much especially since I’m working on a new website that makes it super simple. I think I’ll call it 45 minute books.com or something like that.
Keep marketing, and keep sending out chiropractic newsletters, postcards, and emails if you’re a chiropractor. If you’re not, then by golly, do it for your clients if you’re an attorney. If you’re a small business and you stumbled onto this website, good for you. You can learn from any business person, and you can definitely learn something from me, as I can learn from you.
I used to have a client who was a mechanic.
I’ll tell you about Jeff in my next post if I remember.
Just remember, marketing is marketing.
I’m also helping a real estate investor and he pays me money every month to do his emails and faxes. Yes faxes still work, as do emails and letters, and postcards, and newsletters.
I’ll tell you more about them coming up in future posts.
DO NOT MISS OUT ON THEM.
MAKE SURE YOU READ THEM.
