As you can tell, there are many things that can distract you when you’re in the office.
But, you can overcome just about anything.
Yeah you might not feel really good right away, but remember, if you’re a caring doctor, someone people look up to and respect, then it’s all good.
I was surfing the web tonight and a good friend of mine, Mike sent me this video, and I just wanted to share it with you. I could talk about marketing, but I’d rather talk about what it takes to be successful and to sometimes just forget your past, get out and find out what works, or doesn’t work and keep on keeping on.
This may seem like a rant, which is probably is, but right now I’m doing what I suggest you do at least once a week. Just sit down in front of your computer and type out everything that comes to mind. You don’t have to share it with anyone if you don’t want to, but by doing this, you’re going to find out a lot about what makes you tick.
I asked a friend of mine once, “What makes you tick? I mean why are you doing what you’re doing and why do you treat people the way you treat them?”
She looked at me and said, “I really don’t know. I wish I did, but I don’t.”
And I have to say, I could relate to everything she told me. Sometimes you do what you do, just because. There’s no rhyme or reason, it is just something you do.
And this goes for your patients.
Some days they are the nicest people on earth, then one day when you’re feeling your oats and feeling good, this same person walks into your office, and gives you some grief. You’re asking yourself “why today and that’s not like him/her” but they still did it.
It’s a crazy world out there so when you’re in the office, just understand that you have to do the best job you can with what you have to work with. Be with the patient when they’re in your office, and give them 110% and they’ll leave knowing that you care.
If you can give someone that type of treatment, you’re going to be very successful.
I went to a car show tonight. It was fun, but again, it seems like you get all worked up over something then when you do it, it’s like “Why did I do that? What was so special about that anyway?”
So make sure that you have a plan, you work that plan, and whatever happens… happens. At least you did it. Don’t ever forget that you’re in control of your life. If something is wrong, and you don’t change it, who’s fault is that?
Yes, it’s yours.
You know it and I know it, and so does everyone else.
As they say, “You can’t fool Mother Nature.”
Oh and if you’re really ready to reactive some of your patients, seem them an anniversary card. You know the date that they actually started care with you. How cool is that? And better yet, here’s what you need to think about when I tell you something like that.
How many doctors, dentists, attorneys, banks, automotive mechanics, restaurants, or any other type of business sends you a reminder that you started with them on a certain date? I am going to guess NO ONE and I’ll bet you I just won that bet.
Anyway… got a run.
I’m having a fantastic month, and the product is rolling out of the warehouse, so I’m pretty happy right now. Sometimes you just have to put in a lot of effort initially to get the results you want later. It may not come easy, you might hit a few hiccups with your chiropractic marketing, but if you stick to your guns, and pull everything together so you’re not so scatter brained, you’ll get better patients, better prospects, and better follow through.
Isn’t that what you’re really looking for?
If not, I understand. Not everyone wants to be busy, and not everyone wants to be successful. And to that I say, “Good for you.”
Success is in the eyes of the beholder. Whatever your destination is, enjoy the trip. That’s what you’ll remember when you’re about to leave this earth, and it’s those tiny little morsels of time that will bring back some beautiful memories.
Listen Doc, I just want you to know that if you’re reading this, I really do care about you and how successful you are. If you want to discuss some coaching with me, or getting some products, don’t hesitate to call me anytime. If I am busy, I will call you back.
Keep doing what you’re doing if you’re saving lives.
Stop doing things that are a waste of your valuable time and money. If something you’re doing is not making you money, you need to make a good business decision and drop it like a red hot poker. Do it quick and you’ll never regret it.
